Abstract
There exist various hybrid techniques that combine the finite element method (FEM) and surface integral equation-type (SIE) techniques to solve Maxwell's equations for objects located in unbounded regions. In this article a novel first-order hybrid approach is considered, which combines the conventional FEM and MoM techniques in two distinct phases by using the field solution initially obtained by FEM to modify the incident field expression of the subsequent MoM analysis part.
