Abstract
In five healthy men an intravenous dose of 10 μg. of 1-desamino-8-D-arginine vasopressin (D.D.A.V.P.) stimulated a rapid systemic release of plasma-plasminogen-activator. Unlike the responses recorded with lysine vasopressin and arginine vasopressin, the response to D.D.A.V.P. was protracted and devoid of side-effects. The magnitude of the D.D.A.V.P.-induced release of plasminogen activator was similar to that associated with moderate exercise and intravenous adrenaline.
