Abstract
(ProQuest: ... denotes formulae and/or non-USASCII text omitted; see image). This paper presents a printed wideband monopole antenna for multi-standard handheld terminals in mobile wireless communications that covers the operating frequency bands of GPS (1.565-1.585 GHz), GSM (1800, 1900, and 2100 MHz), WiMAX (3.2-3.6 GHz), WLAN, Bluetooth (2.4 GHz) and WLAN (5.47-5.9 GHz). The antenna is integrated with a semi-circular-shaped radiating patch, additional rectangular radiating element, inverted E-shaped ground plane structure and microstrip feed line. The perceptible novelties exhibited in this proposed antenna include the handiwork of the radiating element and ground plane shapes and the use of the proximity coupling mechanism for wideband. These features enable us to achieve a wide measured bandwidth of 3.35 GHz (1.55-4.9 GHz) and 830 MHz (5.25-6.08 GHz) with a compact size of ... In addition, electromagnetic absorption analysis has been investigated for the proposed antenna.
