Abstract
This paper considers the finding of an optimal complete repair strategy for a 3 state system with Markovian deterioration. The approach followed here is based upon optimizing a function of both a reliability index for the system, which is chosen here as the expected systems lifetime, and the cost of achieving this reliability index.
