Abstract
In this paper the authors propose a new method of search called IF-search to find match for the predicates to answer any imprecise query made by the database users. The method is developed by the application of the intuitionistic fuzzy theory of Atanassov. A corresponding fuzzy method could be developed as a special case of our proposed method. The IF-search method could be easily incorporated in any commercial query language to serve the lay users better.
