Arabian Sea C 35:7 diatoms highly branched isoprenoid alkanes highly branched isoprenoid alkenes Indian Ocean
A novel C 35:7 highly branched isoprenoid (HBI) alkene has been identified in extracts of surface sediment samples from the Indian Ocean by isolation followed by characterization by GC-MS and hydrogenation. This polyunsaturated compound might be derived from diatoms.
