Abstract
Because of their unique properties, different varieties of carbon nanotubes (CNTs), either pure or hybrid, have been proposed as a promising substitute for interconnects in several industrial applications. In this study, a new FDTD-based method was validated with LTSPICE results and then used for the propagation delay calculation inside copper, carbon nanotube, and hybrid copper-carbon nanotube interconnects. The performance of the proposed algorithm was compared with the CN-FDTD and ABCD-MATRIX methods. The best performance was obtained using the theta-FDTD algorithm. The results achieved in this work show the superiority of the proposed method for transient analysis to obtain accurate results.
