Abstract
A simple method is used in order to calculate the band structure of a nonperiodic multilayer semiconducting heterostructure. It may be used in order to determine the band energy levels and the wave function of each energy, hence the probability density. The thicknesses of the layers may be different and the potential is neither periodical nor symmetrical. (C) 1998 American Institute of Physics. [S0021-8979(98)04801-4].
