Abstract

1-Trimethylsilylbenzotriazole was used to form 1,4-adducts with 2-cycloalkenones which were treated in situ with base and electrophile to give, upon hydrolysis, a variety of 3-substituted 2-cycloalkenones in moderate yield. 1-Trimethylsilylbenzotriazole forms 1,4-adducts with 2-cycloalkenones; these adducts on treatment in situ with base and electrophile give, upon hydrolysis, a variety of 3-substituted 2-cycloalkenones.
