Abstract
New glycosides of pyrazolidinedione and 1,3,4-oxadiazolyl-pyrazolidinedione linked to thienopyrimidine ring system were synthesized. The acyclic oxo-alkyl derivatives as acyclic nucleoside analogs were also prepared. The anticancer activity against lung A549, colon HCT116, breast MCF-7, prostate PC3 and liver HepG2 cancer cell lines was studied. The obtained results showed that compounds 6, 10, 14-16 revealed high anticancer activity against most of the previous cell lines, whereas compound 16 was found to be more potent as anticancer agent against human liver HepG2 cancer cells than doxorubicin.
