Abstract
The molecule of the title compound, [Zn(C28H30N2O2)-(CH3COCH3)], lies across a mirror plane with the Zn-II ion and the acetone molecule on the mirror plane. The Zn-II ion is in a five-coordinate distorted square-pyramidal N2O3 environment, with the two imine N and two phenolic O atoms of the tetradentate Schiff base dianion in the basal plane and the acetone molecule in the apical position. The central benzene ring makes a dihedral angle of 16.5 (2) degrees with the two outer phenolate rings. In the crystal structure, the molecules are arranged into antiparallel columns along the a axis.
