Abstract
Despite the benefits of big data analytics use, many big data projects have experienced some failure due to the lack of alignment between big data strategy and the overall business strategy. This research aims to address this issue and investigate the organizational culture effect as an enabler of big data projects' strategic alignment. A research model linking the main dimensions of the organizational culture with the strategic alignment of big data projects was developed. To test the research hypotheses, a questionnaire was addressed to IT decision-makers in Saudi organizations that have implemented big data projects. The findings of the statistical analyses performed using PLS technique indicated that the strategic alignment of big data projects is highly influenced by five dimensions of the organizational culture namely strategy, leadership, adaptability, coordination and relationships.
