Abstract
A simple microwave-assisted green reduction process has been used for fabricating Ag-0-Ag2O-embedded nanocomposite hydrogel. The Ag-0-Ag2O/nanocomposite hydrogel was applied for adsorption-coupled-p hotocatalytic removal of triclosan, and the excellent performance of 89% removal was achieved. The enhanced removal activity of Ag-0-Ag2O/nanocomposite hydrogel could be explained by synergism effect taking place between nanocomposite hydrogel part acting as adsorbent and Ag-0-Ag2O as photocatalyst. The chemical oxygen demand, effect of scavengers and reusability were also investigated. (C) 2020 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
