Abstract

Chemistry Chemistry, Multidisciplinary Physical Sciences Science & Technology
An efficient new method for the preparation of triphenodioxazines (TPDOs) using p-chloranil as oxidizing agent in conc. H2SO4 under microwave irradiation at 120 degrees C is reported. This method is more efficient than the previously described microwave method using potassium persulfate as oxidising agent in conc. H2SO4 as it provides the cyclized product within 8-10 minutes with comparatively higher yields.
