Abstract
This paper presents the performance indicators that characterize battery energy storage system (ESS) operating conditions. The fuzzy adaptive control is introduced into the optimal control of wind farm energy storage system. It does not only restrain wind power fluctuations and improve the stability of wind power output, but also optimizes the charge/discharge process of ESS, and avoids occurrence of over-charge/discharge of the ESS. Whats more, it achieves the purpose for prolonging the service life of the ESS. Then simulations have been made on the conditions of with or without the fuzzy adaptive control system, and the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed control strategy are showed by the simulation results.
