A checklist of Ceratopogonidae (Diptera) in Egypt is provided. New distributional data for 19 species from 9 localities including one new record of Leptoconops sp. 1 from Ras Muhammad (S. Sinai) are given. The total number of ceratopogonid species from Egypt now is 73 in 12 genera and 4 subfamilies. Previously, 57 species in 10 genera and 4 subfamilies were known. Nomina dubia need further investigation.
