Abstract
The analysis of heat movement through longitudinal permeable fin fully wetted by nanoliquid has been modeled in the presence of natural convection and radiation condition. Three kinds of water based nanoliquids having titanium dioxide, aluminium oxide and copper nanoparticles are used for the study. The derived energy equation has been resolved numerically by Runge Kutta Fehlberg method. The influence of geometric and flow factors on the temperature distribution of the fin are discussed in detail by means of plotted graphs. It is found that, Cu-water nanoliquid enhances more heat transport from the fin surface.
•Nusselt number increases with Reynolds number for all the cases.•The dimensionless temperature rises in the flow direction beginning from the inlet.•The thermal boundary layer develops the cold fluid (entering from inlet) heated up.•The maximum thermal enhancement factor (η) was found at around Re 1000–3000.
