Abstract

anthragallol anthraquinones Galium sinaicum roots Rubiaceae
Phytochemical investigation of the roots of Galium sinaicum afforded two new anthraquinones identified as 6-hydroxyanthragallol 1,3-dimethyl ether and 6-(or 7)hydroxymethyl-anthragallol 1,3-dimethyl ether in addition to alizarin 1-methyl ether and anthragallol 1,3-dimethyl ether.
