Abstract
In this paper, three two-dimensional cylindrical lithium-ion batteries are simulated. (PCM) surrounds these batteries. The batteries are linearly placed next to each other and the number of triangular blades is placed on them. The temperature values of each battery and battery pack have been examined by varying the distance between the batteries at various periods. Also, the values of heat transfer coefficient (CTH) and volume fraction of (PCM) of the melt in the period of 0 to 50 min have been studied. The finite element method has been used for the study. The results of this study showed that the middle battery had the highest temperature among the batteries. Keeping the batteries apart will lower the maximum temperature of the batteries, especially the middle battery. Additionally, lower the battery pack's average temperature. Increasing the time from 0 to 50 min increases the temperature of the batteries, the CTH and the volume fraction of the (PCM) of the melt. The lowest value of CTH is for batteries with short distance and the highest value belongs to the maximum distance of batteries from each other. As the batteries move away from each other, the amount of solid (PCM) decreases at equal times and the amount of (PCM) of melt increases.
