Abstract
A ten year study to investigate the possibility that Haemophilus influenzae type b vaccination or its timing can cause type 1 diabetes in children concluded that it is unlikely the vaccination or its timing has any such connection. In studying 128,936 children born from October 1, 1983 to September 1, 1985, and 116,352 children born from October 1, 1985 to August 31,1987 there was no statistically significant difference any time in the ten year followup to the risk level of type 1 diabetes, regardless of the timing of the vaccination.
