Abstract
Aluminium was bonded to an alumina substrate by the die casting process. After removal of the Al2O3 film, the aluminium can wet and bond to the Al2O3 substrate perfectly. The performance of the Al /Al2O3 substrates was examined by SEM, XRD, optical microscope and mechanical testing. The bond strength was found to be more than 15.94 MPa, higher than the flexural strength of the Al2O3 substrate. 6 refs.
