Abstract
Phytochemical investigation of the aerial part of Ononis natrix L. led to the isolation of a new compound, 6-(2'R-acetoxypentadecyl)-2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzoic acid (1), along with twenty one known compounds. The structures of the compounds were elucidated by standard spectroscopic methods. These compounds were screened for cytotoxic, antioxidant, antimicrobial, antimalarial, antileishmanial and antitrypanosomal activities using in vitro assays.
