Abstract
Protein, lipid, alginic acid, crude fiber, chlorophylls a and c, moisture and the ash contents were estimated in Sargassum rulgare, S. enerve, Cystoseira barbata, Turbinaria murrayana and Padina vickersiae . The results suggest their potential use as animal feed and fertilizers.
