Abstract
Chlorpyrifos biodegradation was monitored in liquid culture media amended with single or multiple plant pathogenic fungi isolated from continuously cropped wheat fields. An average chlorpyrifos recovery of 86.1% from liquid media was documented. Growth of mixed fungi was higher relative to the control treatment at insecticide doses up to 200 ppm. Almost 80% of chlorpyrifos was recovered in the combined fungal cultures after 21 d, with a half-life value of 15.8 d. Recovery was in the 48-74% range from single cultures, with a half-life of 19-33 d.
