Abstract

Sixty-three Cretaceous planktonic foraminiferal species and subspecies from Gebel Arif El-Naga, northeastern Sinai, are distinguished, discussed and illustrated, and a biostratigraphic zonation (15 zones) is established. A correlation between the zones and both regional and worldwide Cretaceous zonations is achieved. Major faunal 'events' are discussed in terms of the boundaries of Cretaceous stages.
