Abstract

Adolescents Conflict Parents Puberty
Notes that puberty plays a central role in adolescent parent-child conflicts. Reviews patterns among primates and notes the adolescent pattern of leaving the natal group. This is the practice in many nonindustrialised societies. Comments on aspects of industrialised countries which have led to an earlier onset of puberty and contributed to family conflict. (PAS)
