Abstract
In this paper, an incompressible orthotropic plate is studied for the bounds of Rayleigh wave speed. A parameter "a" of elastic anisotropy, for all orthotropic materials, is defined. It is found that, for all materials with -4 < a < -1, we always have an upper bound for the Rayleigh velocity. In addition, for -1 < a < 0, we have either an upper or a lower bound for speed, c(R), of the Rayleigh wave. (C) 2020 Published by Elsevier Ltd.
