Corresponding author's email: yaseenarabi@yahoo.com Background: Systematic corticosteroids are commonly used among critically ill patients with the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), but their impact on outcome is uncertain. After adjustment for baseline characteristics and time-dependent variables by use of the marginal structural model, corticosteroid use was associated with lower 28-day mortality: adjusted odds ratio 0.61 (95% CI 0.42 - 0.87).
