Abstract
Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films prepared from poly-L-glutamic acid covalently bonded to oxycarbocyanine dye have been investigated by the out of plane optical dichroism method. The absorption spectra are explained in terms of formation of different molecular aggregates such as dimers and H-aggregates (side-by-side interaction). The order parameter of molecular chromophores characterized by a value of coefficient P-2 at the second term in the expansion of a molecular distribution function over Legendre polynomials was found for these different aggregates.
