Abstract
Charge-transfer complexes of 2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyanobenzoquinone (DDQ), with some selected electron donors such as imidazole and amino acids have been studied. Electrolytic conductance, potentiometric and spectrophotometric data have allowed the composition, structure and stability of the complexes to be deduced. It is found that the DDQ forms 1:1 complexes with the ligands studied. The imidazole complex was synthesized and characterized by microanalysis and IR spectra.
