Abstract
A new method for suboptimal model reduction of a non-minimal MIMO linear system is proposed. This method minimizes the DC gain mismatch of the original and reduced-order systems. The proposed method is based on finding the eigenspace associated with the large eigenvalues of the product of the controllability and observability Grammians. An example is given to illustrate the proposed method.
