Abstract
Major sources of cadmium are reviewed and levels measured in ambient air reported. Emissions from anthropogenic sources exceeded natural sources. Data showed that cadmium could be transported over long distances. Atmospheric cadmium might cause cadmium enrichment of soil, vegetation and surface water. There is a bibliography of 73 references.
