Abstract

Chemistry Chemistry, Multidisciplinary Physical Sciences Science & Technology
The hydroxylation of benzene by H2O2 in presence of cationic CTAB, nonionic C12E5, or anionic AOT surfactants and transition metal salt as a catalyst for generating hydroxyl group from H2O2 was performed at different temperatures. The reaction was conducted at various conditions. Phenol was the major product in our case. The activation energy was calculated for different kinds of surfactants.
