Abstract
The report presents selected results of an explorative study on schizophrenic inpatients who took part in a music therapy group during a period of two months. Elements of the music therapy were free improvisations and structured elements aiming at the social behaviour in the group.
The development of contact behavior, of musical expression, and of psychopathological state is documented. Though there are only small changes of psychopathological state we found clear and distinct improvement of contact behaviour and musical expression.
