Abstract
An amorphous Co60Fe18Ta8B14 powdered alloy was prepared by mechanical alloying process. The XRD results confirmed that the amorphous phase becomes a dominant phase above 50 h milling. Observation by scanning electron microscope shows a succession of phenomena of severe plastic deformation, cold welding and fracturing of powder particles. This new amorphous alloy exhibits a wide supercooled liquid region of 83 K and its crystallization occurs by three successive exothermic reactions. (C) 2021 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
