Abstract

Angiospermae biomass characterization Dicotyledoneae fossils Geochemistry of rocks, soils, and sediments Hydrocharitaceae macromolecules Monocotyledoneae Nymphaeaceae organic compounds organic materials Plantae pyrolysis Spermatophyta tegmens
Tegmens consist of two layers both comparable with a cuticle. Pyrolysates contain highly aliphatic macromolecules comparable with cutan. The resistant constituents in the tegmens also contain tocopheryl units which may be an additional source for prist-1-ene in pyrolysates of kerogen or of pristane upon natural thermodegradation.
