Abstract
Freestanding chiral nematic mesoposous silica films encapsulating luminophores enabled right-handed circularly polarized luminescence (R-CPL) with g(lum) values of up to -0.38. The tuning of the R-CPL band and multi-colour R-CPL were found to be realistic. Reversible on-off switching of R-CPL in response to the chemical environment was demonstrated.
