atoms of the doubly-deprotonated Schiff base forming a square around it. The chloride ion and the O atom of the methanol molecule occupy the other two positions of the octahedron. The dihedral angle between the two outer phenolate rings of the tetradentate ligand is 20.27 (12)°. The central phenylene ring makes dihedral angles of 18.62 (12) and 6.02 (12)° with the two outer phenolate rings. Hydrogen bonds of the O—H⋯Cl type link the molecules into an infinite chain along [010]. These chains are arranged into sheets parallel to the
ab
plane and these sheets are connected by weak C—H⋯Cl interactions into a three-dimensional network. The crystal structure is further stabilized by C—H⋯π interactions.
