Abstract

A very simple economical and accurate method for the determination of gold with ascorbic acid over a fairly wide range of pH has been developed. The effect of the presence of other metal ions on the determination of gold has been discussed. The sensitivity of this color reaction is 1 μg/ml. This reaction obeys Beer's law in the range 20–500 μg of gold.
