Abstract
THE INHIBITING action of commercial fatty acid sulphonate on the corrosion of mild steel in (I M) CI was evaluated by weight loss and cathodic polarization. Some corrosion parameters were. calculated, such as corrosion potential, corrosion current density, surface coverage, and inhibition efficiency. The inhibition efficiency was found to increase with increasing inhibitor concentration. Inhibition was explained by adsorption on the metal surface, which was found to follow the Langmuir isotherm.
