Abstract
A computational method to compute the coefficients of optimal controllers for a multivariable system is presented. The design procedure adopted here uses a time-domain optimization technique
1,2 to find optimal values for the parameters of different types of controllers. The parameters are selected to minimize the integral squared error (ISE) between the output's time responses of the specified model and the closed-loop controlled system. The performance of the proposed method is illustrated by applying it to a practical system.
3The results of the proposed method are compared with existing design methods.
