Abstract
Herein, mono and bicyclic beta-lactams are computationally evaluated and experimentally verified for in vitro antimicrobial activity. The compounds prepared were tested against various Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial species such as Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus citrus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Bacillus subtilis. Some of these compounds show potential antimicrobial activities. This study would greatly help to pharmacomodultate the antibiotics.
