Abstract
Concurrent infection with aspergillosis and pneumoconiosis was diagnosed in a lung of she camel slaughtered at El-Gadarif abattoir, Eastern state, Sudan. Lesions of Aspergillus fumigatus (AF) alone or concomitant infection with dust-laden macrophages (DLM) revealed mixed necrotising and purulent exudate. Multifocal aggregates of DLM were seen in peribronchiolar, perialveolar and periarterial connective tissue with or without inflammatory reaction. Fungal hyphae morphologically identical to A.F. hyphae were seen histologically in lung sections and confirmed by isolation and identification of AF.
