splenectomy, limited

Splenectomy has been the treatment of choice for hydatid cyst of the spleen. By successful enucleation of a deepseated splenic hydatid cyst and preservation of the spleen, the authors show the technical feasibility of such a procedure and recommend it as the treatment of choice.
