Abstract
This article addresses the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow of ferrofluid by a curved stretching surface. Water is used as base fluid while magnetite-Fe3O4 acts as a nanoparticle. Fluid is electrically conducting in the presence of an applied magnetic field. Heat transfer analysis is carried out in the presence of thermal radiation and convective boundary conditions. Heterogeneous reactions taking place on the wall surface are given by isothermal cubic auto-catalator kinetics. Homogeneous reactions occurring in the ambient fluid are governed by first order kinetics. System of ordinary differential equations is obtained by appropriate transformations. Convergent series solutions are computed for the resulting nonlinear differential system. Impact of different parameters on the velocity, temperature and concentration profiles is examined. Computations for pressure, surface drag force and heat transfer rate are presented and examined for the influences of pertinent parameters. It is observed that magnitude of velocity enhances for larger curvature parameter. Temperature is increasing function of radiation parameter and Biot number. Also surface drag force and pressure have direct relationship with nanoparticles volume fraction.
Temperature for magnetite Fe3O4 nanofluid increases for higher thermal Biot number. Nanofluid has the best approach to thermal conductivity as compare to viscous fluid. [Display omitted]
