Abstract
The polarization of protons elastically scattered on C
12 and Be
9 at the angle 54° (c.m.) has been observed in the energy ranges 1.2–2.37 MeV and 1.7–2.3 MeV, respectively. The C
12(p,p) reaction was used as an analyser in both cases.
The sensitivity of the reaction Be
9(p,p) to proton polarization has been measured in the energy range 0.9–2.0 MeV using the reaction C
12(p,p) as a source of polarized protons. The angular dependence of this sensitivity has been measured using polarized protons with energy 1.30 MeV and at the five centre-of-mass angles (44°, 55°, 65°, 76° and 86°).
The asymmetry in the double elastic-scattering of protons on Be
9 has also been measured to test the obtained data.
