New polyoxometalate (POM) H4Li6[beta-P2CoW17O62]center dot x:H2O(1)is synthesized for the first time. The structure of1consists of Wells-Dawson type [beta-P2CoW17O62]6-POM connected through [Li-6(H2O)(6)](6+)clusters giving rise to a linear chain. The chemical composition of the newly synthesized polyanion is confirmedvia(1)H,C-13, and(31)P NMR, FTIR, UV-Vis, and SEM-EDX as well as magnetic measurements.
