Abstract
E 120 dye is widely used in juices and food products. They are analyzed and identified in various ways established on chromatographic performances that consume time and resources. Aim of this analyze was to improve a simple, fast, accurate, and economical process for analyzing and identifying staining E120 dye in juices. In this study, the study was applied to a sample of locally manufactured juices containing the E120 dye. E120 dye was studied in the juices at pH 1. The methanol solvent was selected for the E120 dye based on its solubility and its effect on absorbance. Calibration graph was linear in the range of 1-10 mu g/ml of E120 dye in the primary solution with R-2 of 0.9831. The LOD and LOQ were 0.695 and 2.105 mu g/ml, respectively. RSD at concentration 1.0 mu g/ml of E120 dye was 3.908%. Recovery values in various concentrations were in the range of 91.3-110.3%. The obtained results determine the suggested method can be applied suitable to determine the E120 dye in juices samples.
