Abstract

A variety of pyrazoles, thiazoles, thiadiazoles, thiazolidines, azetidine, thiazolo[3,2-a] pyrimidine and pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridine systems, based on 3-(1,3-dioxoisoindolin-2-yl)-3-oxopropanenitrile precursor are synthesized in good yields. The mechanistic aspect for the formation of the newly synthesized compounds is discussed and the structure of the synthesized compounds was established based on elemental analysis and spectral data.
