Abstract
DAM-ADC scintillator is optically characterized for both alpha particles using Am-241 source and gamma radiation using 1.25 (MeVCo)-Co- 60. The Radioluminescence (RL) response of DAM-ADC scintillator to alpha particle has been investigated. The DAM-ADC sample was attached to the surface of the 241Am source, and the photons generated from the sample were detected by the PMT. For alpha particles, the integrated PMT counts output of the local system exhibit linear correlation with the irradiation time. In addition to RL detection of alpha particles, the results of exposing DAM-ADC scintillator to gamma rays with high doses has been performed. Linear relationship between Raman spectral peak intensity and gamma dose is investigated. Induced modifications in terms of structural and optical characteristics of the irradiated DAM-ADC scintillators with gamma rays were investigated. In addition to these properties, pulse height spectra (PHS) under 137Cs gamma-ray and 241Am (alpha particles and gamma-ray (60 keV) irradiation have been measured.
